Samuels’ 76* made England wait in the morning as they looked to bowl West Indies out and they eventually made 165, a lead of 107. Bresnan and Anderson were the pick of England’s bowlers, picking up four wickets each.
It got even worse for the West Indies as Bresnan took three wickets to leave them at 61-6 - three runs ahead - by the close of play. Samuels and Sammy are the two men not out overnight and will be hoping for a repeat of their first day heroics in order to fend off England, who will be hungry for a four-day victory.
Anderson removed both openers to leave West Indies struggling at 14-2.
After being in a strong position at the start of the day, England didn’t capitalise as they would have liked on their score and were all out for 428, 58 runs ahead. Kemar Roach, much improved from the previous day, took the wickets of Bell and Bairstow in quick succession, and Ravi Rampaul finished as the pick of the bowlers with 3-75.
Andrew Strauss made his second century in two games and was unbeaten on 102* at the close, with England 259/2.
